REPAIRS
Remembering that the poor old bear sitting on my workbench is someone's
treasured companion, and knowing how I would feel if I had to send my ted
off for surgery, I try my utmost to find and match the original parts missing.
Most times I succeed but, just occasionally, I am defeated (it's usually
sheepskin that's the culprit!)   However, I haven't had a complaint yet!

Have a look at the few bears below and these will give you an insight into my
repairs and renovations.

If your bear needs surgery - whether just a missing eye, a bit of a clean-up or
he/she is in more drastic need contact me and I'm sure something can be
done.

My charges are very reasonable and I'm happy to do "running repairs" (the
odd eye/eyes), noses/mouths, detached ears etc. while you wait!  Full
renovation and cleaning takes longer!
Give me a ring or e-mail if you would like a quote and to discuss your own
bears requirements.
"RUPERT"
Known as "Rupert no
Legs", this poor soul had
been savaged by the dog!
No Rupert original check
was available, but the
screenprinters that made it
are near me and they had
the correct yellow fabric -
so the checks were drawn
with fabric pen and his
entire legs were redone;
plus a new scarf made.
After a quick wash and
brush up Rupert went back
home to his happy mum!
"TED"
Poor "Ted" was a late 1930's
Merrythought bear and in a
very sad condition  - eyes
gone, most of his stuffing
gone, arms and head hanging
off and very, very grubby.
After a complete
"de-excelsior", he was
cleaned and his joints
repaired.  Most of the ink
stains a toffee came out!
Re-stuffed with new excelsior
and with replacement eyes
"Ted" was as his owner
remembered him from his
childhood and "Ted" now
lives happily with his original
owners grand-daughter.
"BEAR"
This poor Dean's 1940's/50's
sheepskin bear had a
detached head and right arm,
a burnt and very dirty face
and no ears!
The first operation was a
partial de-stuff to replace the
broken joints,repair damaged
sheepskin (not easy!) re-stuff,
and then remove the burnt
parts followed by a general
clean up. No amount of
searching or dyeing could
match the original sheepskin
and so a quirky "Pooh" hat
with ears gave "Bear" a little
dignity!
